Relying exclusively on memory,sketches, and notes David creates paintings that vividly portray the beautiful, and often surreal landscapes from the frozen and geographically isolated polar regions of the earth. David has spent six austral summers and four austral winters in Antarctica. This includes a summer and a winter season at McMurdo Station and a winter at Palmer Station as a participant in the National Science Foundation Antarctic Artists and Writers Program. His traveling exhibit of Antarctic paintings has been shown in 15 states and New Zealand.
